Zackary’s Kitchen is a place for sharing, and a place for family. From the beginning, cooking has been a huge part of my life and continues to be in today’s time. It brings people together, and it allows for a common ground to be found among people of all backgrounds. Whether you’ve had a tough day and just got home to a nice home cooked meal, or you just needed something to get you through the day in the form of a well prepared snack or treat, delicious recipes are the way to the heart and a healer of the mind. I can’t tell you how many days that I’ve worked non stop on a project or task without pausing to eat. At the end of the day, I end up irritable, having a headache, and I really just want to lay down and sink into slumber. However, often times my family needs me to cook supper, and though I’m usually exhausted, I do so anyways. When everything is prepared, I am already feeling more relaxed, and as soon as I take those first bites around the dinner table with the people I love, and I see my little boy enjoying his food just as much as me, my headache goes away, any leftover irritability, and the stresses of the day just seem to dissipate much faster than they came. That shows the power of a good meal in my eyes, and that’s why I always try to stay well hydrated and eat good foods throughout my day. This is no phenomenon, its merely the chemistry of our human bodies. We need food to fuel us throughout our days, and without it, things usually seem a lot harder and rough around the edges. At Zackary’s Kitchen we provide fulfilling recipes, and a great variety that is sure to please any taste. We believe that food is powerful, and that its ability to unify and chase away discrepancies among even the most different or the most opinionated of people is undeniable. I’ve witnessed this all my life, and I believe that my family’s unity was founded around the cultural practices involving the preparing and consumption of outstanding foods throughout the year and during the holidays. Our traditions ensure that we always stay in touch, up to date, agreeable, and more than all, loving of one another. Just like any other family, we have had rough patches of time, disagreements, and all of those things that come with individuality and independence, yet we stay united and overcome those things with the common ground of which Zackary’s Kitchen is founded upon. We understand each others differences, and we accept them. However, this doesn’t only extend to our family alone. Here at Zackary’s Kitchen, the entire world is our family, for we are all of similar origins here on Earth, born of an infinite universe of possibility and wonder. In the end, it doesn’t matter where one is from, their ethnicity, beliefs, or anything of that nature, it only matters how we are towards one another and what we can achieve when we work together, In this, we find our ultimate purpose here on this tiny blue dot in the Milky Way, to love and share with one another through the commonality of cooking, and our capacities to learn about and care for each other. Like the turning off of a light switch extinguishes the energy flow to a lightbulb, resulting in darkness, so could our hypothetical Earthly light switch be turned off by the cosmos, extinguishing our collective energies and potentially all life on our planet along with it. Therefore, enjoy every day, and find your peace around a dinner table with those you love and those all around you for we never know when our individual and collective last day will come.
